Friday Faves # 7: Favorite Dessert

This week's topic is a yummy one coz we'll be sharing about our FAVORITE DESSERTS!!!!  Please include the Friday Faves badge on your post and place your link in the Linky Tool provided below.  May all of us have a sweety delish while blogging!

**************************

My favorite dessert is ice cream.  And believe it or not, I'd rather eat my ice cream before taking a meal!  That's because I don't want my ice cream to melt.  I super hate melted ice cream!  So I'd rather finish it up before it liquify infront of my eyes and craving taste buds!  It doesn't matter if its in a cup or cone or stick or in a sandwich/bread, as long as they are frozen just enough.  Chocolate and cheese are my best ice cream flavors.

Dairy Queen's Sandwich and Dilly's Bar are some of my favorites, and I mostly crave for them after work (which I am always tempted to buy everytime I got off the bus and I have no choice but to enter a mall and pass by a DQ shop).  I also like Nestle's new product, Heaven Ice Cream (as well as other Magnolia Nestle's ice creams because their frozen state shelf life outside the freezer is longer than other brands...well, it's just my observation).

Happy Friday Faves meme reading and blogging!

A Birthday Story (Happy Birthday to me!)

It's my birthday and I spent it while working. Hehe.  As much as I would like to take a bithday leave, I couldn't because I am coordinating a week long training at our office.  I still feel blessed because I got to spend it at our head office instead of spending it in an official business provincial trip (coz that would be sad, I wouldn't be able to be with my family).

I started the day with a smile from my husband, greeting "Happy Birthday" to me.  But then, the first one who really greeted me a Happy Birthday was my brother, Bob, who texted me at 12 midnight (duh, he might be in a midnight shift in call center that's why he was still awake that time!).  Next who greeted me through text was my parents who are currently taking care of my daughter Rian at Laguna for a week (as much as I would like my daughter to be with me during my birthday, I still decided to bring her to her grandparents' house in Laguna to take a short vacation again because I would be extra busy in my work this week because of my training program).

I was smiling when I got in the office so early in the morning because my husband drove me to the office (and that was about 6:00 am...my work starts a 8:00 am).  It was a very thoughful act, because my husband rarely drives me there! I passed by our building chapel to pray and thank God for giving me a new year.  After that, I slept on my desk for an hour and half.  And when I woke up, I brushed my teeth, put on my make up, and placed a big smile on my face, preparing for my day's task ahead.

Outside our office window.  It was 6 am but the sun alreaady shines so brightly, showering blessings on my birthday.  Thank you Lord for a wonderful special day.

Other greetings during the day came from my friends and mostly from FB friends (Facebook forwards me my wall messages.  Hey, the phone's still alerting until now! Gonna thank my friends later through my FB wall).  My officemates greeted me happily, some even visited me in the training room (which is at 11th floor of the office building.....  The Training Team's office is located at 7th floor, so just imagine, I was at 11th floor the whole day for the training!).  Of course, my participants also remembered my special day.  They were happy to have spaghetti for snack (I requested our caterer to serve it for our afternoon snack.  But don't get me wrong coz I didn't pay for it.  The training's snack is on the training budget!).  At lunchtime, I was surprised because I got these desserts---

The cake slice with cherry came from our new officemate, Grace.  The other cake slice came from the training's catering manager, Sir Zaldy.  The almond gelly came from another officemate, Sir Ariel.  Thank you guys for making this day a little more sweeter!

The best is yet to come.  My husband went home earlier than me and he started to cook pesto pasta (as he promised to me).  When I came home, dinner was served.  I celebrated the birthda dinner with the whole household (my husband with my in-laws).

The pesto pasta was my hubby's cooking product for the night!  The cake's not opened yet when I took this photo and the crispy pata's still on the stove and still sizzling!

A happy happy day for me, indeed even though my birthday week would be a busy training week for me!  29 years of existence...more to come bceause I'm sooo excited to live my life with my loved ones--- my husband, Jeff and my daughter, Rian.

CC: The Hardest Days

Rodliz’s Nest
My husband and I are still in our honeymoon period--- we're going 2 years in marriage (plus an almost 2-year bf-gf relationship).  So far, we are not experiencing a major concern in our family, but of course, I wouldn't say that we're having an easy life either.  In the last CC meme, I already discussed that money becomes a sensitive issue in our marriage, but I still thank God because even though we whine about it, He still provides us.

The days that I consider the hardest for us way back just before our wedding, the days when we learned that I was pregnant.  We were planning for a perfect wedding that time, but all of the sudden, I became pregnant.   It felt like all the dreams and plans that we wanted for a perfect wedding and family shattered, and reality of a life with bigger responsibilities suddenly unfolds us.  We even asked ourselves if we were really ready for it, emotionally and financially.  But we had no choice but to be ready for it.  We cried for the loss of our future dreams, as well as the expectations of our parents.  Those were the hard days.

But hard days make us better and stronger persons.  With our baby, we became more motivated and inspired to give the best that we can be in life.  With our baby, we plan for new future dreams.  With our baby, we our marriage became stronger.  With our baby, the world becomes a fun place to live in.

I am aware that harder days will come in the future.  But my family's faith in God is stronger than them.

Mommy Moments: My toddler's eating like a big kid na!

mommy moments

My daughter loves eating something new.  And now that she's a toddler, she sometimes want to try to eat independently.  She would snatch the spoon or fork from my hands and try to eat her food by herself.  To describe her meal and snack time whenever she does that, it's absolutely messy!  She throws food then she'll try to scoop it again with her spoon or fork, then she would try to eat it (of course, I would take away the food before it land in her mouth).  There are times that she's really a good mannered little girl, she's really serious in getting food to reach her mouth using the kubyertos.  It just that sometimes, it pisses her off when the food drops on the floor. Hehe.  Pizza and pancake are the best heavy snacks we can serve her because we would just divide them into bits so that she can use her fork to get it, without her being irritated.  She also loves finger foods for snacks, especially biscuits and Iced Gem (remember it? Hehe).

Sharing to you some of my daughter's candid shots while eating pizza:

Below's photo is quite a funny shot I got while my daughter was eating a fried potato on stick.  She actually ate it as if she's eating isaw!  We were all wondering how in the world did she learn the usual way to eat food on the stick! Hehe...

Yummy Mommy Moments everyone! :)

My Mommy and Me (when I was 1 year old).

I soooo love this photo because I can feel my happiness in my smile...probably because I'm in my mother's loving arms.  I also love my baby outfit because I looked like a fashionista, with my sleeveless pink terno, cool cap, and bracelet.  And I just noticed that my hairstyle before looks just the same with my own baby's hairstyle today-- with bangs. Haha!  I will treasure this photo forever.

FB Phishing Victim

Last weekend, I tried to open my Facebook account.  When I entered my username and password, the screen again asked for my account details.  So, of course, I entered them again.  Then Facebook suddenly prompt me that I had been a victim of phishing and I have to change my password as soon as possible to prevent the hacker to continue open my FB account.  I was so worried that time, I quickly changed my FB password, as well as my Yahoo Mail password (for more security reasons, since FB will send a verification message in my Yahoo mail.  Good thing Facebook quickly recognizes such hacking scams and informs us as soon as possible.

I don't know much about phishing, but according to my research, it is a kind of hacking wherein you enter your account details in a social website or email website which are actually fake (they look like the real thing on the screen but actually, they are fake sites so that the hacker could get your passwords and important details about you).  To minimize the risk of being a phishing victim, social and email websites suggest the following: check the URL of the website before entering your account details, refuse to open or reply unknown emails, especially those which requests for your important information, always log-out before after visiting your social or email websites (and any sites wherein you have to enter your username and password), and of course, limit your sharing of personal information to other people, especially in the internet world.  We may never stop the criminals behind phishing, but we can hinder their acts by safeguarding our own web accounts.

Couples Corner: Sensitivity

Rodliz’s Nest

Between my husband and I, I'm the one who's more onion-skinned (balat-sibuyas in tagalog, meaning, super sensitive.  I even cry easily when my feelings get hurt.  When he does or says something that would hurt my feelings, I turn super quiet and most of the time, I wait for him to go to sleep at night and then I could weep by myself.  As much as I would like to open how much I've been hurt, I feel that he wouldn't understand because he's an extra rational guy.  If he thinks that it wouldn't harm him, then it wouldn't harm me too.  For me, that kind of thinking is not right because I believe that different people has different fears and may have different level of pain felt in certain experiences.  Though I have already discussed with him the reality about human beings (since I'm a Social Technology major and I studied groups of people and their behaviors), his mind is mainly focused on rational thinking (hmm...what can I expect in an Electronics Communications Engineering graduate and a Process Engineer of a manufacturing company guy!).

Money is the most sensitive topic we discuss.  He's always saying to me that we haven't got enough money, there are so many bills to pay, blah-blah-blah....  Most of the time when I hear him worry about money, I couldn't help but to feel guilty because even though I'm now working in a company, my salary is just enough for my everyday expenses such as fare and food, but when there's money left, I share it in our expenses (but it wasn't a big share).  One time when my husband told me that my share wasn't enough, I cried infront of him because there I was, overworked and underpaid, then he would demand me to share more, while he's the one earning better than me!  I was soooo pissed off, I still couldn't forget that scene even though he had already apologized to me.  That's why I am planning to take a sideline job (aside from my regular work at office and motherly duties) so that I could earn more and shove the money at him so that I wouldn't hear anymore of his reklamo about money and he wouldn't make me feel guilty at all.  (God help me to have more energy!).  Sometimes, I feel that money's more important than him than relationships.  But I guess, he doesn't mean to like that at all.  He just wanted a financially secured family now and in the future.  I love him for thinking about having a secured family. :)

Well, that shows how sensitive I am noh? Hehe.

I don't know if my husband gets sensitive at all because it seems like he isn't getting hurt at all.  He doesn't get pissed off easily pero kapag mapuno ang basyo,  probably that's time he'll show his sensitivity.  I haven't seen him get super angry yet, and I guess, I wouldn't want to wait for that time.  I bet that hell would rise when he gets so pissed off. Hehe.

Happy Couples Corner reading and blogging!

Eye strain and Headaches

I'm experiencing painful headaches again....

The last time I had this headache was when I was in my former job.  I know it wasn't migrane because I observed that whenever I wear my eyeglasses, and my eyes becomes tired from being infront of the computer, the pain starts to arrive, and it lasts until bedtime.  I had not visited an eye doctor before probably because I had no health card back then (a check up can be pricey).  After I left my former job, I got married and became a housewife for a year, and I observed that the headache was gone.  But now that I'm working again, and my job includes long hours infront of a computer, the headache starts to come back.  At times I take off my glasses so that I could minimize the pain.  But there are times that I would really wear them, especially when I'm doing training infront of participants and looking out for the right bus or jeep that I should ride.  The grade of my lens is just 70-100, but I feel already blind without my glasses!

Since now, I have a health card already, I decided to consult an Opthalmologist.  I'll visit one on the weekend.  I already purchased a new rim of eyeglasses (since my old one is just too old na), but the lens will just wait after the check up (the grade may already gone higher).  I couldn't wait for this week to finish so that I could visit an eye doctor.  My headache really irritates me especially during work.  And I hope and pray that my eye strain and headache is not something very serious.

Fun at Trade Fairs

I'm beginning to like visiting Trade Fairs eversince I got to experience it first hand in my former work in an non-government organization few years ago.  Since the former NGO I worked for provides training and consultancy services to micro and small entrepreneurs, we were able to be invited to join business trade fairs.  So when our office had a booth in a trade fair held at SM Megamall, we also had a chance to tour around the fair and got freebies, free food tastes, and lots and lots of fliers and brochures.  It was not the first time I had been in a trade fair but it's the first time wherein I got to appreciate being in it.  The second time was when my husband attended a Wedding Fair at SM Megamall few years back when we were interested in checking out how much would we spend in our dream wedding (we were in a boyfriend-girlfriend relationship back then).  I had fun especially when we entered the fair and a lady came to us and ask if when are we getting (our ID's says bride-to-be ad groom-to-be so wala kaming kawala sa question!).  She also asked if it's ok to interview us, and I said yes.  Suddenly, she got a microphone and welcomed us in the fair.  Then she interviewed us with the whole place hearing us.  I didn't know if I should get embarrased or proud, but anyway, we just answered her questions politely.  The interview didn't last long but I was impressed with her idea of selling her services that way (she's running a wedding coordinationg and hosting service, by the way)...it was unique!  Anyway, after we had a tour inside the fair, we got home with lots of fliers and brochures and some freebies.  After a month or so, we visited again another Wedding Fair somewhere at Roxas Blvd (I forgot the name of the place, but it's beside CCP).

Just a few months back, I learned from Smart Parenting website that a Mommy Fair would be held at Alabang Town Center, sponsored by Mommy Mundo.  I decided to go there, since it was just near our place at Alabang.  I actually dragged my husband there (he was not that all excited to go there, but he got interested when we tour around the fair, anyway) because I really wanted to get nice freebies (and I got tons! Hehe).

A freebie photo shot during the Mommy Fair at ATC

Two weeks ago, my officemate got a complimentary tickets for the Food Fair at World Trade Center.  She invited me for a company.  Since World Trade Center is just beside our office building, I gladly accepted her invitation.  It was a destressing activity for us and we truly enjoyed it.  I bought some blueberry and banana cupcakes, jellyaces, and Twistix potato on stick for my darling daughter, and blueberry cheesecake and chips for me and my hubby (so just imagine, I went home with a shopping bag full of pasalubong and brochures / fliers. hehe)

A shot with a mascot at the Food Fair at World Trade Center

And just after a week, I learned that there was a Filipino Franchise Fair at World Trade Center and I couldn't resist to visit WTC once again.  I invited my officemates to come with me and for just 100 Php per head, we were able to tour inside the fair and get information, fliers, and brochures on franchising different shops.  We weren't able to get more food tastes because it was almost closing hours, but we enjoyed each others company.  Another destressing activity for us.  I hope my officemate would upload our photots there so I can share them with you.

Now I'm thinking, what could be the best franchise my husband and I can purchase? Hmmm...

Mommy Moments: Visiting Grannies at Laguna

mommy moments

Belated Happy Grandparents' Day!  Among my own grandparents, only one of them lives up to now-- my grandfather on my mother's side.  And since he lives in a far away farming town in Nueva Ecija, I haven't visited him for two years.  But I hope my family could visit him this upcoming All Saint's Day holiday so that he could finally see his apo sa tuhod.  I'm sure he is all excited to see my daughter!

While I'm doing this blog, my family is now here at Laguna where my parents live.  My husband and I will leave daughter take for a two-week vacation here so that she could spend time with her grannies on my side (we're actually living with my parents-in-law right now in Alabang, that's why it's ok with us if Rian will be visiting my parents for a while).  My parents are so happy right now because they finally can be with their grand daugher again.  I will miss my Rian for the next weeks, especially on my birthday after next week (because she will still be here at Laguna by that time), but while she's away, it would be chance to spend time online and find a freelance job during the nights.  My parents are so matiyaga in feeding, teaching and taking care of Rian, that's why I'm excited to see more of her milestones when we come back to fetch her (and I hope she would gain more weight while she's on vacation too).

My Mommy and Daddy at my daughter's 1st birthday party last July.

Friday Faves # 5: Favorite Best Friend/s

Friday is fast approaching so I'm posting this Friday Faves topic today, Thursday night.  The topic for the week will be all about our Favorite Best Friend/s.  It can be your long-time best friend, your high school barkada, your loved ones, and it can also be your pets!  Share your Favorite Best Friend/s with us and don't forget to paste the Friday Faves badge on your post.  Also link your post with the Linky below this article.  Blogs entered in the Linky will be included in the Links List of my other blog site, Vhanzspace.

Happy Friday Faves blogging to all of us! :)

*****************************************

I am a social person so it wouldn't be a surprise if I had lots of friends.  But among them, only few are, who I can say, my true friends or best friends.  My favorite ones are my high school best friends because they are the ones who I still communicate with up to now.  I didn't really have a barkada when I was in high school, but I had this group of friends which we usually interact with, even though some of them belong to other group of specific friends.  We all went to Canossa Academy, Calamba City during our high school, and University of the Philippines Los Banos during our college years (but with different courses), except one of us who studied in UP Diliman.  Now, 3 of us are working moms, the other two are SAHMs (stay at home moms).  All of us already have families of our own except for one.  We are all different from one another but of course, with some similarities.  Just like other friendships, we had some rocky and smooth experiences.  I am proud to say that after all those years, we still consider each other as friends.

I would like you to meet my high school best friends----

Vdette, Janice, Lea, Vaneni (not in the photo: Chelle)

Vdette: quiet, good, and studious girl during our high school, took up BS Chemistry in UPLB, the first to get married among us!, now a SAHM who takes care of her daughter and baby-to-be (yup, she's presently pregnant).

Janice: pasaway and a latecomer girl during our high school, but very smart kid, especially in Math,  now an Electrical Engineer, not yet married, godparent of my daughter Rian.

Lea: also a studious girl during our high school, but was not much into happenings, took up BS Agriculture at UPLB, I think she's now a SAHM who takes care if her son (she's not telling her present situation lately...), the 2nd to get married among us.

Chelle: she's not in the photo because it was taken during our college days....and Chelle was studying at UP Diliman that time, she was our Editor-in-Chief during our high school days (and Vdette and I were her other editors), moody with a bit of a drama queen, but now that she's a single mom, I believe she's turned into a strong woman (the strongest among us, actually).

Vaneni (me): the girl who had lots of crushes during high school, took up BS Human Ecology during college, now a working mom.

Wow, I soooo miss you guys!

CC: Trust, Faith and Loyalty

Rodliz’s Nest

It was just 2 weeks ago when my officemates debated on the meanings of the 3 words--- Trust, Faith and Loyalty.  And I can't believe I'm gonna actually write my opinion about those words because the night after their debate, I was left thinking of their definitions...and it was a hard one for me! (Sis Liz, grabe pinag-isip mo kami dito ah! Hehe)

TRUST is a very important value of relationships, which could be romantic or non-romantic (like friendships and business relationships).  Without this, there cannot be a harmonious relationship.  It is believing that whatever happens, one will abide my the rules or contracts or promises made.  For me, trust is earned by hardwork.  That's why my husband and I had a courting stage and a boyfriend-girlfriend relationship before we got married so that we would know if we are worthy of each other's trust.  And of course, we still have take care of the trust we earned from each other even though we entered matrimony, so that we could have a harmonious relationship.  Trust and Love goes hand in hand, because love without trust is just an obsession that could result to jealousy and emotional pain for both parties (and they say that love without trust creates baby! But that's a joke! Haha!).

LOYALTY is surrendering yourself to someone or something, and whatever happens, through thick or thin, you stay by him/her/it.  One would never leave, reject and betray someone or something. A good example of people showing loyalty are the soldiers.  They are loyal to the country that they give their lives for it because they believe that being loyal to their country would give them satisfaction in their lives.  It's what they live for.  Same goes for marriage.  From the day my husband and I got wed, we start to live for each other.  And it is our happiness to stick with each other whatever happens---just like what we promised during our wedding ceremony.

FAITH is a word more popular to religion, but is also an important core value in relationships.  Faith is believing without actually seeing.  If one believes God, then he has faith in God.  One doesn't need to see the miracles God made in the Bible just to believe them.  One just knows by his heart that they are true.  Sometimes, in love, we don't really have to prove it just to know it exists.  All we have to do is to believe it with our hearts. Loving blindly is a negative connotion and we have to put it in a positive way--- We love with faith.  My husband and I don't really have to prove every minute of every day that we love each other because we already have faith in each other.  We believe that we love each other.

What's common from those three words is the word B-E-L-I-E-V-E.  Believing makes the three words, not just superficial and overused words, but R-E-A-L.  We cannot see love, but if we believe-- with trust, loyalty and faith-- it makes L-O-V-E a real thing that could be enjoyed by couples.  Because love without believing is just a plain fake love.

Friday Faves #4: Favorite Weekend Getaway!

First of all, I super apologize for not having a Friday Fave last week.  I was so busy, I even had to take overtime at the office (and that's overtime without pay!).  But anyway,  let's continue the fun of sharing our favorites this week!  This week's topic is FAVORITE WEEKEND GET-AWAY.  Share your favorite and don't forget to put the Friday Fave badge with your post and link your entry in the Linky Tool below.  I will extend the linking of entry in the Linky Tool for a month so that other bloggers who would view this in the future may also be able to share their favorites.  Happy Friday Faves meme reading and blogging! :)

**********************

Weekends for me start at after office hours on Fridays.  When I was still single, I used to go to Xaymaca bar at Timog with my friends.  It was a bar with a reggae touch.  My former officemate, Daya, introduced me to the regular Friday band there--- the Brownman Revival.  She was friends with the band members.  Ever since then, I became a regular Friday night Xaymaca visitor because hearing their music made me relax and happy.  And of course, being friends with the band and chatting with them at their break time made my 170 Php really sulit (plus 2 drinks pa yun!).

My 2 great Xaymaca gimmick friends--- Kat and Daya + the Brownman Revival Band
(taken: year 2006...I was still super single back then.  BMR ang boylets ko nun! Haha!)

The regular Friday night Xaymaca friends (eyeball ata ito ng mga BMR yahoogroups members).  Lasing na ata ako jan ah!  Hehe.  Photo taken on year 2006.

When Jeff and I was still in a boyfriend-girlfriend relationship, I took him to Xaymaca bar to meet the BMR (Brownman Revival).  I also brought along Jeff's friends.  It was the last I went to Xaymaca, because since then, my weekends became out of town travels to different places in the Philippines with Jeff (plus, right now, going to bars and clubs isn't my priority anymore, since I already have a family of my own.  I also heard that Xaymaca was being renovated, and right now, I don't know if it is still in business.  But then, I was thankful to have been enjoyed my singlehood by starting my weekends on a Friday night with reggae music and cool friends.  At least, now that I'm married, hindi ko hinahanap-hanap ang gumimik every weekends! Hehe.

A Forward E-mail: What Happens in Heaven

I received this forward e-mail from an officemate of mine (thanks Ms. Lec!) through our office e-mail and I found it very interesting, I decided to share it with you by posting it on my blog.  I hope you may find it enlightening too.  Please feel free to read it through and share it with others. :)

WHAT HAPPENS IN HEAVEN

This is one of the nicest e-mails I have seen and is so true:

I dreamed that I went to Heaven and an angel was showing me around. We walked side-by-side inside a large workroom filled with angels. My angel guide stopped in front of the first section and said,

'This is the Receiving Section.. Here, all petitions to God said in prayer are received.'

I looked around in this area, and it was terribly busy with so many angels sorting out petitions written on voluminous paper sheets and scraps from people all over the world.

Then we moved on down a long corridor until we reached the second section.

The angel then said to me, "This is the Packaging and Delivery Section. Here, the graces and blessings the people asked for are processed and delivered to the living persons who asked for them."

I noticed again how busy it was there. There were many angels working hard at that station, since so many blessings had been requested and were being packaged for delivery to Earth.

Finally at the farthest end of the long corridor we stopped at the door of a very small station. To my great surprise, only one angel was seated there, idly doing nothing.

"This is the Acknowledgment Section, my angel friend quietly admitted to me."

He seemed embarrassed.

"How is it that there is no work going on here? ' I asked.

"So sad," the angel sighed. "After people receive the blessings that they asked for, very few send back acknowledgments"

"How does one acknowledge God's blessings? " I asked..

"Simple," the angel answered. "Just say, "Thank you, Lord. "

"What blessings should they acknowledge? " I asked.

"If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep you are richer than 75% of this world. If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish, you are among the top 8% of the world ' s wealthy.

"And if you get this on your own computer, you are part of the 1% in the world who has that opportunity.

"If you woke up this morning with more health than illness .. You are more blessed than the many who will not even survive this day.

"If you have never experienced the fear in battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation ... You are ahead of 700 million people in the world.

"If you can attend a church without the fear of harassment, arrest, torture or death you are envied by, and more blessed than, three billion people in the world.

"If your parents are still alive and still married ..you are very rare.

"If you can hold your head up and smile, you are not the norm, you're unique to all those in doubt and despair..... .."

Ok, what now? How can I start?

If you can read this message, you just received a double blessing in that someone was thinking of you as very special and you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world who cannot read at all.

Have a good day, count your blessings, and if you care to, pass this along to remind everyone else how blessed we all are.

ATTN: Acknowledge Dept.

"Thank you Lord, for giving me the ability to share this message and for giving me so many wonderful people with whom to share it. "

If you have read this far, and are thankful for all that you have been blessed with, how can you not send it on????

Let's thank the Lord for all the blessings he shower us everyday! :)

I couldn't give away my precious pocketbooks and novels because I always think that I would like my children to read them when they grow up.  Hey, those books might not be available when they grow up, would they?  Hehe.  Actually most pocketbooks that I have are Sweet Valley books (as in, they are still intact and with plastic cover pa! Parang high school notebook! Haha!).  They still smell bookish because I really take good care of them (as in pag may humihiram sa kanila, I make sure that they would return them to me).  I admit I was a huge major major fan of Sweet Valley (I also had SV shirt, socks, and cassette soundtrack of SVH TV series).   Now, since I'm big enough not to read those cheesy teen stories anymore, they are kept nicely in a big box, waiting for my daughter Rian to take hold of them someday.  My Harry Potter books are also waiting for her to read them, though those books are still hanging around my parents house because my brothers still enjoy to read them up to now.  I hope Rian would be a wide reader of different books (but I hope she wouldn't be a bookworm...but just a book lover like me!).  And I hope she would enjoy one simple pamana I plan to give her.  :)

This was my very first SV Twins book, I had it when I was in grade school.  I hope my daughter would enjoy reading this as well. :)

I have Sweet Valley Unicorn Club bools #1 to 15 (but I wasn't anymore completed the whole books of it..I tried but I lacked funds anymore that time...and I turned college that time too, so I guess the kind of book was not right for me anymore. Hehe)

Most of my SVU books were about Lila Fowler, because I like her!  She may be a spoiled brat and bitchy sometime, but I got to know her better through continuous reading of Sweet Valley books.  She's also nice person, just misunderstood sometimes. She taught me that not all things can be bought by money...not all, but most. Haha! :D

***My actual SV books are not with me right now...they are in my parents' house.  So I just got the pictures from the internet :D

Happy Mommy Moments meme blogging! :)

I love this photo with the giraffe statue behind us....  There's no more giraffe at Manila Zoo...I missed it because when I was a child, I had a family picture with it here....
