Friday Faves # 7: Favorite Dessert

My favorite dessert is ice cream.  And believe it or not, I'd rather eat my ice cream before taking a meal!  That's because I don't want my ice cream to melt.  I super hate melted ice cream!  So I'd rather finish it up before it liquify infront of my eyes and craving taste buds!  It doesn't matter if its in a cup or cone or stick or in a sandwich/bread, as long as they are frozen just enough.  Chocolate and cheese are my best ice cream flavors. 

Dairy Queen's Sandwich and Dilly's Bar are some of my favorites, and I mostly crave for them after work (which I am always tempted to buy everytime I got off the bus and I have no choice but to enter a mall and pass by a DQ shop).  I also like Nestle's new product, Heaven Ice Cream (as well as other Magnolia Nestle's ice creams because their frozen state shelf life outside the freezer is longer than other brands...well, it's just my observation).

My Mommy and Me (when I was 1 year old).

I soooo love this photo because I can feel my happiness in my smile...probably because I'm in my mother's loving arms.  I also love my baby outfit because I looked like a fashionista, with my sleeveless pink terno, cool cap, and bracelet.  And I just noticed that my hairstyle before looks just the same with my own baby's hairstyle today-- with bangs. Haha!  I will treasure this photo forever.

I am a social person so it wouldn't be a surprise if I had lots of friends.  But among them, only few are, who I can say, my true friends or best friends.  My favorite ones are my high school best friends because they are the ones who I still communicate with up to now.  I didn't really have a barkada when I was in high school, but I had this group of friends which we usually interact with, even though some of them belong to other group of specific friends.  We all went to Canossa Academy, Calamba City during our high school, and University of the Philippines Los Banos during our college years (but with different courses), except one of us who studied in UP Diliman.  Now, 3 of us are working moms, the other two are SAHMs (stay at home moms).  All of us already have families of our own except for one.  We are all different from one another but of course, with some similarities.  Just like other friendships, we had some rocky and smooth experiences.  I am proud to say that after all those years, we still consider each other as friends. 

I would like you to meet my high school best friends----

Vdette, Janice, Lea, Vaneni (not in the photo: Chelle)

Vdette: quiet, good, and studious girl during our high school, took up BS Chemistry in UPLB, the first to get married among us!, now a SAHM who takes care of her daughter and baby-to-be (yup, she's presently pregnant).

Janice: pasaway and a latecomer girl during our high school, but very smart kid, especially in Math,  now an Electrical Engineer, not yet married, godparent of my daughter Rian.

Lea: also a studious girl during our high school, but was not much into happenings, took up BS Agriculture at UPLB, I think she's now a SAHM who takes care if her son (she's not telling her present situation lately...), the 2nd to get married among us.

Chelle: she's not in the photo because it was taken during our college days....and Chelle was studying at UP Diliman that time, she was our Editor-in-Chief during our high school days (and Vdette and I were her other editors), moody with a bit of a drama queen, but now that she's a single mom, I believe she's turned into a strong woman (the strongest among us, actually).

Vaneni (me): the girl who had lots of crushes during high school, took up BS Human Ecology during college, now a working mom.

Wow, I soooo miss you guys! 

Friday Faves #4: Favorite Weekend Getaway!

Weekends for me start at after office hours on Fridays.  When I was still single, I used to go to Xaymaca bar at Timog with my friends.  It was a bar with a reggae touch.  My former officemate, Daya, introduced me to the regular Friday band there--- the Brownman Revival.  She was friends with the band members.  Ever since then, I became a regular Friday night Xaymaca visitor because hearing their music made me relax and happy.  And of course, being friends with the band and chatting with them at their break time made my 170 Php really sulit (plus 2 drinks pa yun!).

When Jeff and I was still in a boyfriend-girlfriend relationship, I took him to Xaymaca bar to meet the BMR (Brownman Revival).  I also brought along Jeff's friends.  It was the last I went to Xaymaca, because since then, my weekends became out of town travels to different places in the Philippines with Jeff (plus, right now, going to bars and clubs isn't my priority anymore, since I already have a family of my own.  I also heard that Xaymaca was being renovated, and right now, I don't know if it is still in business.  But then, I was thankful to have been enjoyed my singlehood by starting my weekends on a Friday night with reggae music and cool friends.  At least, now that I'm married, hindi ko hinahanap-hanap ang gumimik every weekends! Hehe.

Friday Faves #3: Favorite music / song

Tomorrow is another fun-filled Friday Faves time!  That's why I'm starting it on a Thursday night, to prepare for tomorrow.  Our hot topic for this Friday is all about YOUR FAVORITE MUSIC / SONG.  You can type the song's lyrics on your blog and better yet, you can upload its MTV!  Everyone will get the chance to know the songs and even watch the video (that would be sooo cool!).  Happy Friday Faves Music Trip everyone! :)

I like lots of music from different genres, and my favorites depends on my moods.  For example, if I'm angry, I'd like to listen to Linkin Park music.  If I wanted to cool down and relax, I'd listen to Brownman Revival music (reggae!).  If I feel energetic, dance music is the one for me, such as music of Lady Gaga and Pussycat Dolls.  But the music I like to share with you is the one that I want to hear when I feel sexy and inlove...and it's the kind of music I like to dance infront of my hubby! (haha!).  Well, it's both our favorite music.  Maroon 5 music.  I'm sharing to you one of Maroon 5 songs that I like best, guess what it is!

I have two favorite computer games:  The Sims and Restaurant City in Facebook

I was addicted to The Sims since I learned about it few years ago-- from The Sims to The Sims 2 to The Sims 3.  I like most the latest which is The Sims 3 because I got few freebies when my husband bought it for me last year (we actually ordered it in advance to get the limited edition mug, t-shirt, and flash disk that looks like The Sims icon-- the green diamond thing that hovers above the Sim you're playing).  I like the Sims because I get to design my dream house and control my life in it.  It was such a world outside reality.  I don't  have a snapshot of my Sims now because I stopped playing it for a while. Mahirap na ma-adik ulit...baka hindi ko na maasikaso si baby and trabaho ko! Hehe.

But then, I still de-stress over the other game that I like-- Restaurant City from Facebook.  I NEVER played Farmville...I have an existing farm there but I didn't play it at all.  Maybe because I never wanted to be a farmer. Haha!  I wanted to be the shop owner and manager!  My husband and I diligently play this game, and we even befriend other facebook people we don't personally know just to get and trade ingredients that we need.  It was a slow game before.  As in mahirap kumita ng pera. But now, it has many features that could make more money and get ingredients fast and easier.  When I was still a housewife, I could play this everyday, and even play my husband's restaurant (and even my brothers').  But now that I'm already working, I could just sometimes open it.  However, it's still the Facebook game I love to play.

This my restaurant (named "Vhanz Delight") in Restaurant City.  My theme is more like Hawaian or summer.  I chose to make a theme with bamboos and seashore because whenever I get to visualize it, I get more relaxed.  My husband's theme, however, is Japanese.  He always wanted to run a Japanese restaurant! Haha!

I believe that this is my mission in life...to TRANSFER KNOWLEDGE to people, for their own development.  Hmm...this is probably why I took up Human Ecology major in Social Technology in college and entered the career in Training and Development.  I want to be the mirror who would reflect light in other people's lives.  This is why I live.
